Welcome to the blog!

We are two people, one dog and three legs...well technically ten. But this is our story about going through life with some obstacles we have to maneuver and how we go about doing just that! And by the way, our life is fewer obstacles and more awesomeness. Stay tuned for more awesomeness...

Music Filled Weekend!!!

This weekend was fun and busy.
Friday evening and Saturday Morning-Afternoon we drove up to Rochester College for the Global Justice Conference. The Abolitionist Hymnal Project sang and were rockin' out against Human Trafficking. We also heard Theresa Flores discuss her personal experience with Human Trafficking in the, well known to us, city of Birmingham, Michigan in the 1980s. In the morning Bridget Carr, J.D. spoke about her fight as an Attorney against human traffickers and how we can all help by changing the language of society today. If you hear someone talking about the subjectification of women or how great it is that they got this thing at Walmart for so cheap...don't be afraid to speak up and tell them how their actions effect the lives of others. Check out truckersagainsttrafficking.com for a powerful but awful video on how this stuff really happens, across the globe and right in our back yards. It was a powerful conference and it is a privilege to be a part of such an awesome movement with such strong and dedicated individuals.
When we got home on Saturday late afternoon Anna busted out the cello and we played through a few AHP and CTG original songs to see what it would sound like. It'll take a little work since I haven't played the cello since 9th grade but cello and guitar have a unique sound that will be fun to figure out together.
Saturday night we went up to Ferndale to support our friends Rachel Creech and Don Hudson who played at the New Way Bar. Check out some of their stuff Here. They are awesome musicians and we love them!
Lastly, today we got invited by another awesome musician Kate Monaghan, to go to see the Civil Wars play in Ann Arbor at the Ark. It will be an awesome end to a perfectly musical weekend. If you are not familiar you should immediately check them out. They are my new favorite musical group. Look em up: http://www.myspace.com/thecivilwars
