Welcome to the blog!

We are two people, one dog and three legs...well technically ten. But this is our story about going through life with some obstacles we have to maneuver and how we go about doing just that! And by the way, our life is fewer obstacles and more awesomeness. Stay tuned for more awesomeness...

My Apologies to my wife!

Just wanted to deeply apologize for posting this covert video of Anna. Sorry Anna. But you and Panda were pretty cute there in the lazy boy!

Well, we got this new toy so we'll try to use it to post some pics and more videos!

14 Days, One Night

So we've figured out that in this 14 day period we will be at home together for exactly...tonight. Herein lies the challenges of working in churches and getting your medical care from talented people 11 hours away!

Well, we made the best of it though. Together we watched two complete episodes of Grey's Anatomy, one of The Office, and played an hour of Second Life (which is enough to make us both bored, even though you CAN fly.).

Hopefully y'all can give us some hints on how to use nights like these to the fullest...besides the obvious!

One Year And Tumor FREE!

So it has been almost one year since Anna's surgery and we are back at the Mayo Clinic. Dr Shives saw us on Tuesday afternoon and gave us the good news that there is no evidence of tumor or infection!! The pain Anna has been experiencing is due to a bursa (fluid sac) on the inside of the end of her residual leg and/or the bone spurs that have grown on the end of the severed bone. The Mayo Clinic Amputee Clinic tells us that with some tampering and testing a few adjustments to the prosthetic the pain should ease! So now it's back to the drawing board to figure out what needs to be changed. Hopefully I'll be biking before long! Thanks for listening!

Married life...

Yeah...that is kind of what married life is like. One constant crazy dance party. Oh look, they're break dance fighting! Come over and see what we (ahem I...) have done with the place so far...still a work in progress. By the way...we have THE only Pewabic pottery dinnerset creamer...as of now, it's an original piece. Life is good.

BE PREPARED!

You know the old boyscout motto right? Well, we are getting married in a small chapel in northern lower Michigan which means...ALL WEATHER IS POSSIBLE. The wedding reception will be outdoors in a tent and we want everyone to be comfortable! So please, bring a jacket and something cool to wear...maybe even a rain coat. WHO KNOWS! And good shoes that wont kill your feet because we will be walking from the ceremony to the reception (if you are able of course) about a 4th of a mile or so! Think summer camp!

Making Paper!

Anna has been busy making bunches of paper. Some has come out too pink, but it is beautiful in its own way. Here's how she does it!

Peace!

Pie Plea

Instead of a wedding cake, we are asking people if they have the means to please bring their favorite pie to the wedding to share. We will probably call you later and ask you personally but just so you get a heads up! Here's a video:

Anna's new knee!

So I am FINALLY starting the process of getting a new leg! Phew. My prosthetist emailed me the link for the knee she will probably use for my new leg. So I'll probably have this knee for a few years anyways. No computerized knees to start with, maybe when I start training for my first half marathon/century she'll believe I need one of those $40,000 buggers. Just in case anyone was wondering what kind of hardware I'll have during the wedding and the next few years of my life. Take a look [click here].
